Random Riddle

This website is proudly Australian. There are no pop-ups, no viruses, no webpage redirection and I won't be begging for any of your money! Everything here is completely free for the taking. All I ask is that before leaving you post a short message in my guestbook, just to say hello.
I maintain this website just for the fun of it and with the thought that what I have available here may make someone's day just a little happier. I'm also a firm believer in the original concept of the Internet - that it is a means for the free exchange and sharing of information, ideas and technology. Unfortunately, far too many people through greed, hate and selfishness have turned most of it into a place of "get rich quick" schemes, scams, racism, pornography, and downright stupidity.
I would ask that if you find anything on this site to be useful, that in return you do something to help someone less fortunate than yourself. It doesn't have to be much - help someone who looks lost - if someone looks hungry, then give them a little food - if someone is in trouble, then try and help - because one day, that person could be you.

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
Aesop: Greek slave & fable author (620 BC - 560 BC)

Well, the site's staying online for a while longer.

I am extremely grateful for the guestbook entries and emails from everyone offering support and asking for me to keep this site online. It's comforting to know that there are so many nice people in the world.

You can read more about this site staying online by clicking HERE.

Greentreefrog.net.au
I don't like the idea of putting unpleasant stuff on this site, but I decided that an ISP by the name of Mark Russell who runs greentreefrog.net.au in Australia deserves a mention right at the top of my main page. He's someone who I unfortunately had my internet access with and seemed to take a great deal of delight in being as nasty and as arrogant as is humanly possible. So I decided to put all the info on the net about what happened and everyone around the world can read it and decide for themselves.
What happened to me, could easily happen to you!

About Me
Curious about what sort of person set up this website?
Guess what?
You can find out here.

Free Links Page
I've setup a links page where anyone who has a website that may be of interest to others (or if you know of a useful site) can add a link to it from my website. Google spiders this site on a weekly basis and I seem to draw my fair share of visitors, so please feel free to share what you have with others. The only stipulations are that web links can only be for free sites, suitable for all ages and legal.

My Blog
I've been debating with myself for a few years now about putting a personal blog on this site and have always felt that it's just a little too personal (and boring). Well, I've finally decided to do it. I hope it doesn't turn out too depressing and I'll try to keep it as amusing and thought provoking as possible. Please feel free to leave any polite comments, (it is anonymous) and I sincerely hope that it provides some enlightenment for others as well as a means for me to express some of my thoughts.

Guestbook
Please feel free to leave any comments you may have or just leave a note to say that you passed by this way.

Tour of Duty '71
I did 6 years in the Australian Army as an infantry soldier, including part of my time as a combat soldier in Vietnam during 1971. Come with me back to '71 in the jungles of South Vietnam, look through my eyes and know my thoughts and know what it was like. The pictures here are the ones I took while on active operations, this is not a Hollywood movie - this is the real thing.

Vietnam Video
This is a 33 minute slideshow of my Vietnam pictures put to music. I'm not sure who put this together, but it turned out very well. It's DVD quality and compressed to an avi file that's 339 meg in size. Please feel free to download it and spread it near and far.

The Price of Freedom
This is a copy taken from my Father's diaries, he was in the British Royal Artillery and was captured by the Japanese during the fall of Singapore in 1942. He then spent three and a half years as a P.O.W. in Changi and building the "Railway of death" in Burma. I decided to transcribe his diaries and put them on the net so at least in my lifetime what he endured won't be forgotten.

My Freeware
A plethora of programs I've knocked together in my many moments of insanity. These are completely free with no restrictions on their use, (actually there is one restriction, "if you find any of this stuff useful then you have to give it to someone else!")

FreeWAP
Got a mobile phone? Wanna impress your friends with a new custom wallpaper, screensaver etc every day? Well .. now you can! I've set up a few thousand assorted graphics into zipped files that you can download from my freeware page and a WAP site where you can upload and download your own files to your phone as often as you like and it's all absolutely free. There's phobias, superstitions, riddles, manias, geography, history and lots more, the easiest way to find out is to try it. (This page may take a while to load, so be patient).

Mobile Phone Vault
Here's a whole truckload of a few thousand wallpapers and screensavers for your mobile phone (cellphone if you're a yank). Available in the most popular sizes 128x128, 128x160, 174x132, 176x220 and 240x320. You can see graphic examples of each font and I've set this area up so that there are as few pages as possible to load. This may mean that if you're still using a 56k modem, you may need to wait a while for each page to load (but that's still better than loading a gazillion pages with a couple of fonts on each!).

This is just for a bit of fun and my own interest. I thought it might be interesting to find out what others think of certain topics. The voting system is quick, simple, anonymous and painless and you may even find some of the answers both interesting and funny. So please have a go and put in your two cents worth.

Send an ECard?
I've spent a lot of time updating this into what I think is a respectable ECard setup.
There are 1,100 assorted images to use, music can be added, assorted backgrounds, animated frames and an assortment of snappy little smileys that can be included in your message. You can even upload and use your own image. I've made it as simple and intuitive as possible so it should only take a couple of minutes to make a card and you can view your card at any time and see the changes immediately.
